Um Nasser Finland Preschool

Overview

Um Nasser Finland Preschool is a purpose-built early childhood learning environment in West Riffa, developed to introduce Finland’s internationally recognized education model to Bahrain. The project reflects a national commitment to high-quality early learning, with an emphasis on design, pedagogy, and long-term developmental impact. 

The built environment reinforces the preschool’s approach through flexible classrooms, structured activity zones, and outdoor spaces that serve as active components of the learning experience—supporting autonomy, creativity, and consistent, high-quality delivery at scale. 

A Distinctive Educational Model 

The preschool follows a play-based, child-centered approach rooted in Finnish pedagogy—valued globally for its emphasis on well-being, independence, and inquiry-led learning. Operated by EduCluster Finland, part of the University of Jyväskylä Group, the model is thoughtfully adapted to reflect Bahrain’s cultural context. A collaborative team of Finnish and Bahraini educators ensures the approach is both internationally grounded and locally relevant. 

Partnership with EduCluster Finland 

This project is the result of a partnership between S Eleven Educational and EduCluster Finland, formalized in 2024. Together, we’ve co-developed a forward-looking early education model that merges international best practices with national priorities—positioning this preschool as a prototype for future projects across Bahrain.
